Duluth House | Lake Superior & Lift Bridge Views

3 bed, 1.5 bath home w/free parking in the heart of Duluth, and Park Point neighborhood. Steps away from Canal Park, where you will find fantastic restaurants, bars, boutiques, coffee shops, art galleries & more.

Fun decor coupled with family-friendly furnishings creates a unique, homey feel in this two-story 1904 home. Incredible views, central air/heat, board games, children's books, and toys, free parking & WiFi are just a few conveniences you will enjoy during your stay. 

The lake view bedroom features a queen bed with a memory foam topper, a small table for a game of cribbage, and a small fireplace. This bedroom does not have a door and is open to the upper floor.  The middle bedroom has two twin beds. The 3rd bedroom has a queen bed with a large closet and a pack n play available. All bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor of the home. 

** Please note: All bedrooms and full bathrooms are located on the 2nd floor of the home. There is a small half bathroom located on the first floor. **

Kitchen is fully stocked with your basic essentials. The dining room is furnished with a table and chairs, which comfortably accommodates 6. A half bathroom is located off of the kitchen, at the bottom of the stairs. The living room has a newer leather couch and two lounge chairs, children’s toys, and books, and is furnished with a queen-size pull-out couch providing additional sleeping space if needed. We do not offer a TV at the Duluth House as we believe that quality family time is important - and we want you to truly enjoy spending time together and enjoying all that Duluth has to offer.

The driveway offers 2 to 4 (depending on vehicle size) private off-street parking spots located directly next to the home. The backyard space is not fenced and you may have tourists walking through the area to get to the public beach access. The patio area has a metal table, grill, and grassy area for kids to play. 

This is not a spot for a "quiet" vacation, especially in the summertime. Canal Park is very busy and The Duluth House is located in a prime tourist spot. Located just on the other side of the lift bridge, the yard to the left of the home and the beach behind the home is public access. You will have a lot of tourists walking around the property and admiring the beautiful Duluth attractions. 

The Lift Bridge will signal to boats as they are coming in and out. This signal is very loud and typically goes on multiple times throughout the day. It is amazing to watch the bridge lift up and down and the big boats/ships go through! Listen for the watchtower to give you a little history from time to time on ships entering the canal. The "Lake Room" does not have a door and is open to the rest of the upper floor. 

You will sometimes be what locals call "bridged" when leaving Park Point. This is when the Lift Bridge raises its road to let larger boats through. It can take anywhere from 5-25 mins so if headed somewhere always prepare for this!

**The grill is an added amenity provided for your enjoyment. Please use the provided grill brush to clean up after you're finished. If the grill is left for the our staff to clean, there will be an additional $75 cleaning fee.

The Neighborhood
The Duluth House is within walking distance from Canal Park (literally right across the bridge) where you will find an abundance of local shops, breweries, and restaurants! You can also take a stroll down the beautiful Lake Walk, alongside Lake Superior. 

Also in close proximity is Downtown Duluth which has even more restaurants and shops to explore. Miller Hill Mall is located about 10 minutes up the hill and there you can find a Target, Walgreens, Home Depot, and more. We encourage walking, biking, and enjoying the close hiking trails located towards the end of Park Point. Public beach access to Lake Superior's Park Point Beach and 5 miles of sand right out your back door.

During the busy summer boat traffic months, you will be what locals call "Bridged". This can take anywhere from 5-25 mins. Enjoy watching the big boats passing by! 

**Please Note** SUMMER IS BUSY IN CANAL PARK! There will be traffic on most weekends, especially with special events going on so just be aware when making your vacation plans. Also, It snows here. It's very unpredictable but we do have snow removal that will be triggered with a 2" minimum. Please allow at least 12 hours after a snowfall for our company to get out to plow/shovel as necessary.

QUIET HOURS: 10PM - 8AM

Our guest service team is available by phone from 8am to 9pm if you have any questions or need anything. Our direct contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation.  The primary form of communication, including check in information, will be through the booking platform and/or email.  You will receive your check in information 1 day prior to your arrival date.  Check in is at 4pm. 

VACATION RENTAL HOUSE RULES

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a) All Guests (and any Visitors) must comply with all House Rules and any other instructions from the Property Manager during their stay; and b) Guests must notify the Property Manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbors as soon as reasonably practicable.

2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD a) This Vacation Rental is suitable for children of all ages! Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the Neighborhood; b) Guests and Visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure; c) Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the Security Deposit;

Terms include a No Tolerance Policy regarding excessive noise, parties, or disturbing neighbors. Please make sure you are comfortable with our Terms as they are strictly enforced.

3. VISITORS a) Guests are allowed a maximum of 6 visitors at any time during their stay. b) Guests are responsible for ensuring maximum visitor numbers are not exceeded; and that visitors are complicit with these House Rules.

4. FUNCTIONS a) Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Vacation Rental; and b) Any small gathering must comply with other rules set regarding Noise, the Neighborhood and Visitor numbers.

5. PARKING a) Guests and any visitors are to comply with parking regulations and other requirements set out below and show consideration to neighbors and other vehicles; please use the designated parking with signs for the Vacation Rental.

6. SECURITY a) Any time Guests leave the Vacation Rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. b) Guests must switch off the lights, air conditioning, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving.

7. SMOKING a) Smoking is not permitted inside the Vacation Rental; and b) Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly (in large trash cans located outside property or off property all together) and not thrown on property grounds. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

8. PETS a) IF dogs are permitted at the Vacation Rental; b) Specific rules regarding Pets at the Vacation Rental are as follows: Please keep pets off all furniture and be sure to have on a leash at all times when outside of the home. Also be sure to clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the trash bins located outside of property. Please respect neighbors by limiting the barking of pets on the property; c) A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed at the property; for short term reservations the pet fee is $75/dog, for extended stays the fee is $150/pet.  All mention of pets denotes dogs only, no other pets are permitted.

9. DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES a) All Damages and Breakages must be reported to the Property Manager as soon as reasonably practicable. Failure to report them will likely result in a penalty deduction from the security deposit. And; b) To avoid Damages and Breakages, no furniture is to be moved from one room to another without prior agreement.

10. CHECK OUT ARRANGEMENTS a) Please be sure to lock all doors and leave both sets of keys back in the lockbox. Check out is at 10am - if you need a later checkout please contact me as soon as possible to request arrangements.

11. EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS: a) In the event of an emergency relating to the Vacation Rental, your emergency contact is: Heirloom Vacation Rentals 218-409-4885 b) In the event of all other emergencies please call 911.

12. COMPLIANCE a) Breach of any of these House Rules is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of occupancy as per the Rental Agreement. b) The Owner and Manager reserve the right to terminate permission to occupy and to evict from the Vacation Rental, any Guests or Visitors who refuse to follow these House Rules or who cause a nuisance to neighbors or other residents of the community.
